Alfred Eisenstaedt (1898-1995) was one of the original staff photographers for LIFE magazine when it was launched in 1936. He was born in Dirschau, West Prussia (now part of Poland) and came to America in 1935. Eisenstaedt photographs make great teaching resources for the social studies classroom, home schoolers and as inspirational art for home and office.

|
Once the amateur's naive approach and humble willingness to learn fades away, the creative spirit of good photography dies with it. Every professional should remain always in his heart an amateur. -Alfred Eisenstaedt
